Chile thrash Bolivia 7-0 in La Florida as Adriana Moreno scores a hat-trick
Chile's women's team began their new cycle with a rout in their first friendly of the October FIFA window. They play again on Tuesday, behind closed doors.

Chile's women's team opened a new chapter with a rout. La Roja beat Bolivia 7-0 on Sunday 11 October at the Estadio Bicentenario de La Florida in Santiago, in their first friendly of the October FIFA window. The standout was Adriana Moreno, who scored a hat-trick, with two goals early in the second half that blew the game open.
A new squad for a new stage
The match came with a particular backdrop. Chile missed out on the 2027 World Cup in Brazil, and the coaching staff led by Luis Mena used this window to look ahead: they called up a heavily renewed squad, mostly young players with few veterans. Players from Colo-Colo and Universidad de Chile were also left out as they prepare for the Copa Libertadores Femenina, which starts next week.
Far from holding them back, the overhaul paid off. Chile went into the break 2-0 up and ran away with it against Bolivia in the second half.
How the goals came
- Millaray Cortés opened the scoring just after the half-hour mark with a free kick.
- Adriana Moreno doubled the lead before half-time, also from a free kick. The national team's official account hailed it as an "unstoppable free kick".
- Early in the second half, Moreno struck twice more to complete her hat-trick.
- Nerea Sánchez made it five from the penalty spot with just over ten minutes to go.
- The sixth arrived around the 80th minute, and reports differ: EFE and Emol record it as an own goal by Bolivia's Aide Mendiola, while T13 and Cooperativa credit it to Moreno, which would give her four on the day.
- Milenka Pavez headed in the seventh late on.
What comes next
Chile play again on Tuesday in their second friendly of this FIFA window, which will be held behind closed doors. With no World Cup on the immediate horizon, every call-up is a chance to give minutes to the players who will carry the next cycles, and several of them made the most of it in La Florida.
For Moreno it was a dream afternoon: a set-piece goal, two more in the blink of an eye and the sense that she is one of the faces of La Roja's new generation. For Mena, it was the first step on a long road that began with seven goals and a clean sheet.
